Windows Vista Setup Directions
1. Click on the blue Start
button in the lower left corner of your screen. The Start Menu will
open.
2. Click on "Control Panel" in the
bar on the right side of the Start Menu. A new window will open.
3. If you see 10 or so icons, the
first one being "System and Maintenance," click the words "Classic
View" in the bar on the left side of the window. If you see many icons,
the first one being "Add Hardware," move on to the next step.
4. Double-click "Network and Sharing
Center."
5. Click the words "Set up a
connection or network" in the bar on the left side of the window. A new
window will open.
6. The first option, "Connect to the
Internet," should be highlighted in blue. If so, click the "Next"
button in the lower right of the window. If not, click "Connect to the
Internet" so it becomes highlighted in blue, then click the "Next"
button.
7. If the page that appears next
says "You are already connected to the Internet," click the option that
says "Set up a new connection anyway." Otherwise, move on to the next
step.
8. Click on the option that says
"Dial-up."
9. In the field next to "Dial-up
phone number" type the Kiva access number that is a local call for you:

10. In the field next to "User
name"
type your full Kiva user name.
Example: kivakarl@kiva.net
11. In the field next to "Password"
type the password that Kiva has given you.
Note: If you would like Windows to
remember the password so you don't have to enter it each time you
connect, you may click the box next to "Remember this password."
12. In the field next to "Connection
name" type "Kiva."
13. If you would like anyone who
uses your computer to be able to get online using this connection, you
may click the box next to "Allow other people to use this connection."
Otherwise, move on to the next step.
14. Click the "Connect" button in
the lower right of the window.
15. Click the "Close" button in the
lower right of the window. Your setup should now be complete.
